Road Safety Talks in Schools

Good morning,

Phil and I have been liaising with our Child Centred Policing Team (CCPT) to come up with a plan to combat some concerns raised by the local public. These issues revolve around young people, in particular school children crossing various roads in Tonbridge in an unsafe manner. This week, I attended Tonbridge Grammar School with PC HILLS of our CCPT and delivered four road safety talks to students aged 15-17. Students engaged with the talks brilliantly and some admitted to having a ‘herd mentality’ when crossing roads, not realising the dangers of this prior to our talk. We aim to deliver more of these talks to all age groups and are hopeful that we will see an improvement in some of the areas raised.

Kind Regards

Jack
