Good Morning, On Saturday afternoon PC Hewes and PC Kinrade responded to a report of Criminal Damage in Broadway, Sheerness. 2 youths were seen to be firing projectiles from catapults at a building, however they were not aware that CCTV covers most of the Town Centre and with the help of CCTV control, they were swiftly detained on Victory Street. A stop search was conducted with the youths which resulted in 2 catapults, a bag of ball bearings and a pocket full of stones being seized. 1 of the youths also admitted to causing damage to a window of a building in Broadway and was issued a Community Resolution for his troubles. If you have a member of your family or household who owns a catapult, please advise them they are only to be used within the confines of your own property/garden or on land where you have the land owners permission. It is NOT acceptable to be out in public firing at buildings or wildlife such as pigeons, seagulls, squirrels or any other wild animal. Where offences such as this are reported to police, we will follow them up as per the above incident and offenders will be dealt with. |
