Good afternoon,

On Tuesday afternoon we made an appeal after numerous theft from motor vehicles, burglaries and attempt thefts were reported to us in the Melsonby, Darlington Road and Skeeby area.

The support from this appeal and information provided from the public was fantastic. A number of people provided us with CCTV enabling us to gather evidence in this investigation and track the offenders across the area.

Last night we arrested a male from the Durham area for these offences. He currently remains in custody for questioning and the investigation continues.

Your help as always is appreciated. We will not tolerate people whether living in our area, or out of our area committing crime. We want to keep Richmondshire as safe as possible and will continue, with your help to target and disrupt crime.

If at anytime you see someone acting suspiciously or are witness to a crime, please report this through to us immediately so that we can be in the right place at the right time.

We all join the job to put people behind bars, and with your help we are doing this.
