Recent arrests

On the 22nd of February officers from the Tunbridge Wells Neighbourhood Task Force and Beat team effected the arrest of 2 suspects who had been identified as being responsible for a number of crimes in the town. In recent weeks members of the public had reported to police that their bicycles were being stolen. Officers had conducted enquires at various locations and managed to obtain footage of the suspects committing the crimes.

2 suspects matching the description were seen in the town in possession of a bicycle and stopped , officers discovered the bike had just been stolen and suspects were in possession of a cordless angle grinder used to cut locks off bikes. A number of bikes have since been returned to their rightful owners and the suspects have been bailed not to entered Kent.

The community safety unit would urge anyone who has had a bike stolen to report it to police as we have it in our possession. In the coming weeks the CSU will be arranging bike marking events , we'll keep you posted.
