Burbage Police Update. Suspicious Persons, Arrest And Vehicles.

Hello Resident,

We hope you have had a good week and a nice break if you have been away. Here is an update for the last week in Burbage.

Reported Crime and Appeals

Since our last report, we have received 30 calls to Police, 4 were emergency and 10 were priority calls. Calls ranged from Criminal damage, domestic reports, Transport issues to violence against a person.

Report from Fletcher Road that on the night of the 17th at around 23:30, 6 males in balaclavas were making attempts to enter a vehicle. An item was removed from the vehicle. Suspects have run towards the direction of Atkins way. It appears several other attempts were made in the area.

Officers attended the area and completed several stop searches. One arrest made. If you have any CCTV around this area of Burbage which may be of evidential value to us, please get in touch. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk 25000096916

A vehicle window was also damaged on Brookside (near Holt Road junction). It is possible this incident is linked to the above incident although the timeframe is from 13:00-16:00 on the 19th. 25000102771

Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement

Multiple stop searches completed by officers at location such as Higham Way, Bridge Road and Brookside.

Vehicle seized by officers on Sapcote Road at 22:15 on the 22nd due to no tax.

We have been spending time this week dealing with neighbour disputes, Cannabis issues and youth related work which links into some of the criminal activity.

Crime prevention and issues to be aware of

Further report regarding scam phone calls offering “crime and fire prevention”. Please do not engage with these types of calls and visit LFRS directly if you need anything regarding fire safety or pop me an email if you would like any crime prevention support. Protecting communities across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland | Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service

Please continue to be mindful around home and vehicle security. If you see individuals or groups, particularly walking around in balaclavas at night and look to be involved/committing crime, please call Police immediately.

We have lots of crime reduction items such as windows alarms, alarmed padlocks, cactus spikes and RFID wallets which all help reduce opportunistic crime. Please get in touch if you would like any support.

Thank you and take care.
