Building Site Burglary- Brough with St Giles


Dear resident, 

 

Police are investigating a building site burglary in your area that occurred sometime between the hours of 4pm on Wednesday 26th February and 7am on Thursday 27th February.  This has occurred on the Avant Homes site at Brough with St Giles whereby a quantity of drain pipe fittings have been taken (photo of similar items attached).

 

Do you have any information which would assist North Yorkshire Police in finding those responsible and help keep your community safe? 

 

  • Did you or anyone who you live with, hear or see anything around the above time and date? 
  • Do you have any CCTV coverage capturing the burglary, or anything happening on the street before or after? 
  • Do you have a vehicle with a dash-cam parked in the area?

    Whilst this was a building site burglary I would like to take the opportunity to offer some simple advice to help keep your home safe: 

     

  • Ensure that all doors are locked overnight, and windows are locked or on a latch.
  • Remove any valuables from sight and it is advisable to keep house/cars key, wallets/purses, phones/laptops/tablets in the room where you sleep.
  • Consider fitting a security light/ CCTV/ door bell camera to your property.
