Arrest in Porthill

Arrest in Porthill

On the evening of 27th February 2024, a male suspect was arrested in Porthill for multiple offences, including:

  • Possession of Class A & B drugs with intent to supply
  • Possession of an offensive weapon
  • Production of cannabis
  • Taking a vehicle without consent (TWOC)
  • Drug driving (Section 5)
  • Driving while disqualified
  • Driving without valid insurance
  • The suspect's vehicle was seized as it was used in the commission of these crimes.

Additionally, a search of an address was carried out. Three rooms were set up for cannabis production. While only one room contained a few young cannabis plants, it was evident that the location was intended for large-scale cannabis cultivation. Police intervention occurred early in the production stage, preventing further development.
