Arrest in Porthill

On the evening of 27th February 2024, a male suspect was arrested in Porthill for multiple offences, including:

Possession of Class A & B drugs with intent to supply

Possession of an offensive weapon

Production of cannabis

Taking a vehicle without consent (TWOC)

Drug driving (Section 5)

Driving while disqualified

Driving without valid insurance

The suspect's vehicle was seized as it was used in the commission of these crimes.

Additionally, a search of an address was carried out. Three rooms were set up for cannabis production. While only one room contained a few young cannabis plants, it was evident that the location was intended for large-scale cannabis cultivation. Police intervention occurred early in the production stage, preventing further development.
