Dear Resident,
We know there are some concerns following several reported moped and motorbike thefts in Great Yarmouth recently.
While the investigations into the thefts continue to progress, neighbourhood officers and other specialised police teams will be conducting increased patrols around the area, particularly during the evening and overnight when it’s reported that these thefts are happening most often.
Great Yarmouth Chief Inspector Shaun Baker said: “Thank you to everyone who has already reported an incident or told us about suspicious behaviour. Any information you share with us helps our investigation and builds a picture of exactly what’s happening, where and when, so please carry on reporting anything you see. Even if it seems irrelevant, the smallest detail can help officers piece everything together. To report information to us, you can call us on 101 or use the online reporting links here: Report a crime | Norfolk Constabulary
In some of the reports made, the motorbikes have been described as not being well secured. Unfortunately, this can make them a bigger target for opportunistic thieves. For some crime prevention advice on how to improve bike security, you can visit our website here: Protect your motorcycle, moped or scooter from theft | Norfolk Constabulary
Thanks,
PC Rebecca Harris
