Two warrants were executed in the Ronkswood area of Worcester this morning (Tuesday 4 March) following concerns around drug dealing in the area. Officers from Warndon Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), supported by Task Force and our Local Policing Priorities Team (LPPT) targeted two addresses in Liverpool Road. No arrests were made at either property; however, a baseball bat and a knife were seized at one address. At the other, scales, a suspected ‘burner’ phone and a note and notebook suspected to contain details of drug dealing were seized as evidence. A man told officers at the latter he was a victim of cuckooing – where a criminal takes over the home of a vulnerable person in order to establish a base for illegal activity such as drug dealing - and he is now being given appropriate support and advice. Police Sergeant Brian Simpkins of Warndon SNT said: “This morning we executed two drugs warrants in Liverpool Road in response to community concerns around illegal dealing. “Though no arrests were made, we did encounter a man who informed us he was the victim of cuckooing. We are now supporting him. “Warrants like these show we will always act on public concerns and develop intelligence when it is presented to us. “Disrupting suspected drug dealing networks are key to our ongoing efforts to tackle their illegal enterprises and the harmful impact they have on our communities.” Alternatively, if you have information but don’t feel comfortable speaking to police, you can speak to the independent charity Crimestoppers. It is 100% anonymous, they never ask your name, and they cannot trace your call or IP address. You can contact them online or by calling 0800 555 111. ![]() | ||||
