Dear Resident,
Humberside Police are aware of issues surrounding parking outside of schools, with this being a common theme when speaking to local residents about issues in your community.
Can I take a moment to remind you all that the yellow zigzags outside schools indicate the part of the road where motorists should not wait, stop, or park a vehicle. This is, however, often specific to certain times around school drop-offs and pick-ups.
These parking rules are enforceable by local councils, who can issue motorists with a penalty charge notice.
While I understand the convenience of parking directly outside schools during these times, this leads to an increase in risk to children, parents and other road users.
Police are in regular communication with the local council surrounding the enforcement of these parking restrictions, and it is likely that civil enforcement officers will be visiting problem areas in the coming weeks and months, which could leave you with an unwanted fine if the rules are not followed.
Please share this with anyone who this information will likely affect to prevent them being issued with a penalty charge notice.

Thank you
