The Torpoint Neighbourhood Police Team have conducted patrols and stop checks with the ‘No Excuse Road Safety Team’ over the last few days/evenings in our local area. Multiple tickets were issued for various road traffic offences and two arrests were made for impaired driving.

The 'No Excuse' Road Safety Team were launched in an attempt to reduce the numbers killed & seriously injured on roads throughout Devon and Cornwall. The focus of the team is the 'fatal five':

1. Impaired driving through Drink and Drugs

2. Not wearing a seatbelt

3. Excessive Speed

4. Driver Distraction including mobile phone use

5. Careless and Inconsiderate driving.

The dedicated team act as a deterrent to prolific road harm offenders. They could be anywhere at any time.
