Hello Resident,

We understand there may be some concerns after an incident in Wallingford earlier today.

Firstly, there is no ongoing threat to the public and no one has been injured but we have made an arrest.

We were called to an address in Beeching Road at around 4pm. Armed and unarmed officers attended and a man inside threatened them with weapons, but the officers swiftly and safely detained him.

The suspect remains in our custody at this time. We are not looking for anyone else and we have left the area now but anyone who's worried can call 101 or make a report on our website.

Please do not share any footage or images of the incident on social media or speculate as it could affect our investigation.
