Dear Resident

Please find listed below the crime figures for the Read and Simonstone area for the month of February.

2 x Road related - 1 x Drink driver (blew under when stopped) and 1 x speeding.

2 x RTC - 1 x damage only and 1 x injury

1 x Theft - Stone garden ornament taken from a garden.

1 x Att theft of motor vehicle - Motorbike but offenders disturbed on the drive and later arrested.

Over the last few days we've had reports of a suspicious male in the area who has taken pictures of the school bus as it drops off, accosted people for lifts towards Whalley and approached a female on her private driveway asking questions that made her feel uncomfortable.  Whilst none of these incidents are criminal offences his behaviour has caused concern. We believe from the descriptions given that it is the same male for all of these incidents and believe we know who he is. As I type this message this male has been detained for a separate incident elsewhere in the county and he is on his way to custody where I suspect mental health services will be asked to assess him.
