Last week PC's from the Pickersleigh and Chase Safer Neighbourhood team carried out a number of plain clothed patrols around areas of Malvern, tackling retail crime in the area. The operation was organised by PC Todd Gummery and involved all of the Pickersleigh and Chase team, along with some assistance from Special constables and officers from other Malvern local Policing teams.

We carried out patrols following information received from retailers when reporting incidents and from discussions with retailers, highlighting the times that thefts and other incidents at stores happens. 

We stopped a theft in one store and dealt with the offenders. The males were from out of the area and we hope that our quick response sent a message for them to re-consider coming to this area to carry out their thefts. 

We  will continue to do these plain clothed patrols on a periodic basis and we will post it on social media occasionally to hopefully further deter criminals and make them think twice about thieving in Malvern.
