ASB Updates

The team just wanted to pass some updates onto residents. We have recently attended a report of anti-social behaviour in Longridge town centre, whereby officers have then spoken to juveniles involved. As as follow on, we have issued some Acceptable Behaviour Contracts. This is where conditions are given to the individual to not be involved in ASB, and curfews/exclusion areas are also added. All the juveniles and their parents have been spoken to about the behaviour and police consequences will follow if unacceptable behaviour continues. Please therefore continue to report ASB matters to the police. 

It is a reminder that Longridge Safe Space is still running for youths to attend, every Friday evening, usually from, 6-8pm, at Longridge Youth Zone, Berry Lane. This is whereby youth workers work with young people, and it is a positive safe place for young people to socialise. 

As part of my recent meetings with Longridge Parish Council and Ribble Valley Council , we have been discussed lighting around Longridge and where improvements can be made. This with the aim of reducing any ASB and making it safer for residents at night time. These discussions are ongoing and we would always welcome any inputs from the community. The Love Clean Streets App is also a very useful tool for you to report any local environmental issues, which creates a report directly to the local authority. Reports can cover things like littering, graffiti, dog mess, abandoned cars, lighting etc. This App is free and can be downloaded via your smartphone App Store. 

We have also been working with the council due to issues with the council CCTV cameras in central Longridge. There was a network failing problem, due to technical issues. The good news is that these issues have been solved and the council cameras are now fully working again. Providing the police with a valuable asset in dealing with ASB and progressing crime investigations.
