Good Afternoon

 

Dear Resident, As you may be aware, we are getting an increase at the moment in East Northants for garden/farm breaks. Suspects are taking everything from horse tack, battery and mains powered tools for gardens and workshops, ride on mowers, trailers, quads, ATV’s, compact tractors and everything in between.

 

Northants Police are working hard and doing all we can investigating these crimes, Northants Rural crime team we would like to enforce to following message:

Making sure everything is locked up

Chain large items together where possible and block them in with bigger kit

Take keys out and store them away from machines

Report ANY sus vehicles they see

 

Report changes to gates and locks (we are seeing padlocks cut and then suspects putting their own locks back on to allow future access)

 

Any suspicious circumstances or crime in progress, report via immediately on 999 and, if they can and without putting themselves at any risk, attempt obtain index numbers of any vehicles seen

 

If you do get any vehicle index’s, please report this immediately to our dedicated Northants team on 101 to maximise our chances of identifying suspect motors.

 

In an Emergency and life-threatening Incidents, please immediately dial 999
