Hello Resident
Do you have a landline? If so, are you aware that telephone lines are going digital?
You may have heard of the Digital Switchover which affects all landline customers and will be completed in 2027. This means that landlines will operate from a broadband connection, the reason being that the copper network infrastructure is failing and will eventually be switched off in a few years.
The Neighbourhood Watch Network have been asked by BT to arrange drop-ins to chat to people about this and explain what this will mean when you are invited to switch. For those that have poor broadband or mobile signal or depend on a personal health care device, then these events are useful to find out how it work for you.
There is an event in your area soon, so please do share this message wider.
Friday 14th March 2025 at Sawston Library, Sawston Community Hub, New Road, Sawston, Cambridge, CB22 3BP
Drop-in anytime between 10am and 1pm to chat to our volunteers about this.
Warmest regards, Ros Regional Digital Voice Coordinator (East of England)
