Update from the Springfield neighbourhood policing team

Dear Resident,

Here’s a quick round up from me and the rest of the Springfield neighbourhood policing team.

What’s been happening

  • Partnership Working We have conducted joint operations with Trading Standards this week at two locations following community intelligence. A large quantity of illegal cigarettes and vapes were recovered. We will continue to work with trading standards around the sale of these items and nitrous oxide which we receive regular feedback from the community about. We also took part in a joint visit with several of our partners including the DVLA, waste management and local councillors in order to address and enforce some of the local issues that affect you.
  • Warrant Officers obtained an urgent warrant last week following a car tracking to a location in Sparkhill. An individual was arrested in connection with this and enquiries are continuing.
  • Parking Enforcement Following the recent community poll on X where parking was voted the community priority of the month, we have issued over 100 tickets so far this week and seized a number of vehicles for dangerous parking.
  • Cuppa with a Copper We continue to hold our weekly ‘Cuppa with a Copper’ sessions at St. John’s Church every Monday between 10am – 12pm. Please join us for a chat with our local PCSO Evans.
  •

    Finally, A big thanks to

All the residents of Meadow View and Swanshurst Lane who attended the recent resident’s meeting held at The Shires on Wake Green Road. It was a great opportunity to hear concerns first hand and look at the ways we can address them.

As always, please continue to look out for further updates from the team on our X (formerly twitter) page @springfieldWMP
