Good evening, Bitterne North. Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team has been busy this evening engaging with members of the community. Firstly, we engaged with the Young Carers group at the Oasis Hub on Melchet Road, where we had a group of 10-12 year olds who certainly had a lot of questions about the job we do and the equipment we use, as well as a group of 13-16 year olds afterward. We shared information about online safety and what you can do to ensure you keep yourself and others safe when using the internet and social media. We then had a local Guides group visit Portswood Police Station! The guides were very enthusiastic and certainly enjoyed looking at the equipment we use, as well as a brief tour of the station and the large police van we have on site. Some of the questions over the course of the day were really well thought out; clearly, you all showed a vested interest in what we do and the challenges we face on a daily basis. Thank you all for listening and for how well you behaved, especially when moving around the station while other officers were working. We look forward to engaging with you again in future meetings.
