Police are appealing for witnesses and information following reports of a dog being dangerously out of control in Hitchin. At around 5.45pm on Wednesday 5th March, a woman was reportedly bitten by a small German Shepherd-type dog that was off its lead in Priory Park, causing a facial injury. Efforts are ongoing to trace the owner who is described as a white woman in her late teens/early 20s, around 5ft 9ins tall and of proportionate build with long, wavy dark brown hair. She was said to be wearing a lime green jacket and black trousers. PC William Cox, who is investigating, said: “Is this you, or do you recognise this person from the description? Please email me at William.Cox@herts.police.uk with any information you may have.” You can also report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/21002/25.
