Hello all,
Today the SOUTH RIBBLE NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICING TEAM including myself have been out doing Speed Enforcement in 30mph areas of SOUTH RIBBLE. These are areas highlighted by members of the public as high speeding areas. We work within specific times which have been highlighted as the most problematic times for speeding.
This morning we have been out and about on:
STATION ROAD - NEW LONGTON
WATKIN LANE - LOSTOCK HALL
WHEELTON LANE - LEYLAND
CHAPEL LANE - LONGTON
In Total we have Scanned 372 cars and only had to speak to 2 drivers who were doing 35mph.
If you feel there are any other areas that are a speed concern, you can raise awareness of speeding and road safety issues in the local area via Lancashire Road Safety Partnership website https://lancsroadsafety.co.uk/. You can also submit footage directly to the Police through OP SNAP for their consideration. OP SNAP is a Police response to the increasing submissions of video and photo evidence from members of the public in relation to witnessed driving offences. This can be accessed via the link. https://unitedkingdom1cpp-portal.digital-policing.co.uk/lancashire/appeal/public-dashcam-submission.
We will continue to targets areas where high speeds have been reported and also are open to any suggestions of new areas of concern or positioning of our cameras as the communities that live in these areas know these roads the best!

Many Thanks, PSCO 7011 WALMSLEY
