Bolsover Engagement

Over the last few weeks officers from the Bolsover Team have attended Bolsover Infant and Nursery School to meet the children, discuss the roles of police and show them around our vehicles. The event was attended by PC BAKER and PCSO TURNER, they were assisted by PC CUTT and PC STONE from the Shirebrook Team. Also in attendance was the crew from Bolsover Fire Station.

It was a very chilly afternoon, but the children really enjoyed meeting us all and looking around the vehicles.

PC BAKER, PCSO TURNER were joined by PC SALMON for an evening speaking with the Beavers and Scouts in Bolsover. We spoke about the role of the Police, what to do in the case of an emergency, answered some inquisitive questions before showing them around the Police Van that we took along.

The groups were allowed to look around the Van and spent most of their time in the cage or handcuffs taking photographs of each other.

Meeting groups no matter how young is invaluable for the Safer Neighbourhood Team to enable them to form relationships and break down any barriers that may have been formed. It shows the children that we are approachable and if they need us, we are there to help. We have had great success hosting events like this and will continue to do so throughout the year.
