Are you looking for a way to give back to your community while having a great time outdoors? Here’s your chance to get involved and make a difference.

We’re teaming up with Smallwoods for a hands-on day of woodland care at Leegomery Woodland, located opposite the Leegomery Community Centre.

How Can You Help? We need volunteers to lend a hand in keeping our woodland beautiful, assist with activities, and make the day enjoyable for everyone.

Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or simply looking to spend some quality time with your family, there’s something for everyone.

Woodland Activities: Help us build a dead hedge, try your hand at tree coppicing, and remove pesky laurel from the forest floor. It’s a great way to learn about woodland management while improving the local environment.

Shave Horse & Wooden Crafts: Smallwoods, the woodland charity, is bringing along a shave horse – a fun, traditional way of shaping wood. Plus, there will be wooden creatures for you to decorate and take home.

Wrekin Housing Group: Get your hands dirty at the planting station with sunflower seeds, peas, and more. We might even have a little face painting for the younger ones.

Easter Egg Hunt & Woodland Competition: Kids (and adults!) can enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt around the woodland. There’s also a special competition – show off your woodland skills and win an Easter egg, with a Golden Egg for the ultimate champion.

Police Activities: The local police will also be joining us with some fun activities, including a Wanted Board for you to check out.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to connect with your neighbours, contribute to the community, and have some fun in the great outdoors.

Come for the fun and help keep our local woodland thriving.
Let us know if you can help, and feel free to bring family, and neighbours.
