Crime Update

Good Afternoon Neighbourhood Link member,

In response to recent break-ins at our local allotment sites, our dedicated beat team has ramped up patrols and have been working closely with the council in an aim to boost security and keep our cherished gardening spaces safe.🌻

Over the past week, I've had the pleasure of chatting with many of you about your concerns and expectations. Your insights have been invaluable, and I hope the security advice and reassurance I've provided has been helpful. Plus, I've been out on evening patrols at each site🔦, aiming to deter or catch those responsible.

It's also been very encouraging to see the community coming together and implementing further security measures.

Here are some tips to enhance the security of your plots and protect your valuable gardening tools and equipment:

🌟 Security Lighting: Motion-sensor security lights are fantastic for deterring intruders.
📸 Security Cameras: Installing cameras with motion detection can provide surveillance and keep unwanted visitors at bay.
🛠️ Secure Sheds: Ensure your sheds are in tip-top shape, with secure locks and reinforced hinges. Consider blocking windows with internal metal mesh for added protection.
🏷️ Property Marking: Mark your valuable items with identifying marks and keep a record of serial numbers.

And remember, if you see any suspicious activity, don't hesitate to report it!!

Let's continue to work together to keep our allotments safe!🌿
