Dear Residents 

We have received a few reports regarding vehicle door handles being tried in the Batchley area.  

1. Don’t Leave Valuables in Plain Sight

Cars with visible valuables are far more likely to be targeted.

2. Park Smart and Stay Aware

Park in well-lit, high-traffic areas.

Avoid parking near large bushes or obstructions that block visibility.

At home, park in your garage or as close to your home as possible.

3. Use Modern Vehicle Security Technology

Car Alarm Systems: Install alarms that sound when windows are broken or doors are tampered with.

GPS Tracking Devices: air tags or vehicle-specific trackers allow you to locate your car quickly if it’s stolen.

Motion Dashcams installed in vehicle which record when motion is detected around the vehicle. 

 4. Lock Up and Double-Check Every Time

Always lock doors and roll up windows before leaving the car.

Don’t leave your car running unattended.

Double-check doors are locked using your key fob or by physically pulling the handle.
