Local News

Good Afternoon,

This is just a quick email to let you know what is happening in your area and what events we have upcoming.

Events:

- Burscough Town Council Offices drop in session on Monday 31st March at 19:00. Come and have a chat with your local team and discuss any concerns.

- Ormskirk Library drop in session on Wednesday 2nd April at 10:00. Come and raise any concerns with your local officers.

- Burscough Town Council Offices drop in session on Friday 11th April at 10:30.

Issued raised in your area and what we have been doing:

  • Speeding: Speeding has been highlighted as a key community issue in your area. Our Neighbourhood Officers and Officers from the Special Constabulary have again been out this week and targeting those roads that have been highlighted as being of particular concern.
  • Parking outside schools: Officers are now receiving more and more reports of dangerous parking outside schools. People are parking across pavements, blocking driveways and parking across junctions. It goes without saying how dangerous this is and how annoying this is for local residents. Can we please ask people to be considerate when parking outside schools. Residents have now started taking in photographs of offending vehicles and appropriate action will be taken.
  • Residential Burglaries: Residential burglaries are another key concern raised in your area. We understand the devastating impact this crime can have on people and we take these crimes extremely seriously. We have not had any residential burglaries reported for Ormskirk, Aughton or Burscough over the last week.
  • Community Engagement: 21 Beavers from Ormskirk and Burscough visited Skelmersdale Police Station this week. They had a talk about what the Police do, visited custody and looked at some of our vehicles.
  •

    Thanks,

    West Lancashire Neighbourhood Team
