#YouSaid - What matters to you
Your priorities are chosen quarterly and are based upon
information gathered through NHL (Neighbourhood Link), social media, local engagement, and emerging crime trends. You have stated that the following key themes are important to you. #YouSaidWeDid
Priority 1 - In the last quarter of 2024 road safety continued to be a issue highlighted across the beat including speeding and parking.
Priority 2 - Over the last 3 months Burglaries have been highlighted as a community concern.
PCSO 6592 Danny and PCSO 6204 Kirsty had a busy shift visiting the Beavers & Scouts Groups in Countesthorpe and Enderby to do a talk around Stranger Danger and Road Safety. After the talk they did a show and tell around a police vehicle which the children loved. They educated the children around what to recognize when noticing suspicious behavior and also the basics of road safety both at the road side and whilst riding as a passenger.
"We just wanted to thank Counthesthorpe and Enderby Beavers & Scouts for having us. We hope to be back soon. We loved seeing smiles all round and happy memories being made while leaving a positive impact on how important it is to be aware of stranger danger and road safety." - PCSO 6592 Danny
We should offer our sincerest apologies for not being at our advertised Beat Surgery last month. PCSO kirsty had all good intentions of attending the Beat Surgery at Countesthorpe, but was unfortunately diverted to another job. However, we do hold one of these sessions every month at the Countesthorpe Library, details of which you can find below. In the meantime, please feel free to drop me an email.
FREEVA
During March PCSO Kirsty was invited to attend a networking event with FREEVA, for International Women’s Day. FREEVA are a charity that offer support for domestic and sexual violence for all people, all ages, including children, in Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. FREEVA’s phone number is: 0808 802 0028. Kirsty wrote “One of the things that really stood out for me, was a presentation by Nina AOUILK. Nina said that I can share her photo with you. She is available to look at on the internet. She is an inspiration to anyone who is suffering or suffered from domestic and/or sexual abuse.”
You may or may not have noticed that PCSO Kirsty has placed parking advise signs up on lampposts down the Main Street in Kilby. This is for all drivers going through or stopping in Kilby. You may have also noticed PCSO Kirsty and PC Jodie were in separate cars in the area at school collection. Can we just say, thank you for keeping the road clear and safe, by parking in the Dog & Gun pub carpark. I’m sure you’ve noticed a difference when crossing the road with your children.
We received a report of children stealing from Tesco in Countesthorpe. These children have been identifed as attending the local school. We are currently working with the school and will be working with the parents on this. It is not acceptable to steal.
We have had calls about a motorbikes causing ASB on Ridleys Close in Countesthorpe. If you are the parent of a child that has a motorbike please educate your children of the dangers. If you are out and about on a motorbike, please make sure that you are insured and are licensed. We are aware of the issue and would encourage anyone with information that will help us identify the individuals to come forward.
We have noticed that people are still parking on the double yellow lines outside the Bulls Head pub and on the street in Countesthorpe I have spoken to the Council about this, they have organised for you to park at Central Street carpark, moving forward please use this car park. This is available anytime after 6:00 pm daily and all day on a Sunday for you to park there. Leicestershire County Council are carrying out enforcement for vehicles contravening the restrictions.
