Hinckley Police received reports of 2 males in a vehicle offering their 'services' around Hinckley and especially Trinity Lane. The males were offering gutter cleaning and repairs to residents at hugely inflated prices. Luckily our quick thinking neighbourhood team promptly attended the location and the perpetrators were quickly foiled, speeding off with ladders in tow. Affected residents luckily didn't get scammed and money didn't change hands. Patrols were made around the location and residents advised accordingly. We strongly advise that if you need any repairs or work on your property that you always do thorough checks and utilise the services of a reputable tradesperson. Please call 101/999 in an emergency if you are targeted by rogue traders or scammers.
Local Neighbourhood Beat officers and NPT colleagues were patrolling Richmond Park recently and areas near to the location due to a recent reported incident. The high visibility patrols will be ongoing to offer reassurance. While at Richmond Park, Officers engaged with local children and parents. PC Matt decided that it was a good idea to do his best 'David Beckham' impression and take on the far younger and somewhat fitter aspiring footballers in the play area! He was cheered on by colleagues, PCSO Steve, PCSO Blake and PC Marcus. The children really enjoyed the interaction, with one young chap who will be known as 'chopper' promptly showing PC Matt how to take the ball off someone far bigger. Definitely the next Maradona. Thankyou to all involved for the few mins of downtime and it's something that we will possibly look into in the future, Kids v Cops? ( watch this space ! ).
Whilst OpFlux can deal with the, shall we say more exciting elements - dealing with intoxicated drivers, occasional pursuits, stolen vehicles and street racers....…the Op is about road safety, and preventing harm and injury to road users. Risk can occur from things as simple as people parking quite selfishly and forcing pedestrians into the road. Advice notice left this time, enforcement will take place should vehicles continue to be parked obstructing the pavement in this way. If you are aware of any similar issues, please drop us a message. |
