Hello, a quick round up from some of the work Foleshill officers have completed this week,
There has been a high volume of shop thefts from our retail parks around the city, with this is mind Foleshill officers held an all-out crime prevention day at the Gallagher Retail park. Officers were on Hi visibility mobile and foot patrol in and around the retail park. We had our local PCSO’s on site too. Community officers held a crime prevention stall and were speaking to shoppers and residents. Finding out what matters most to you. They were also giving out crime prevention items including door and window alarms. Stickers for vans carrying tools and signal blocking pouches.
Another thing that matters to Foleshill residents is parking !! After listening to resident’s officers teamed up with the enforcement officers from Coventry City Council to patrol the area. First stop was Hollbrooks primary school, people were given advise and told to walk to the school run if possible, Parents and staff from the school were very happy to see officers and hoped it made people change their mind about dangerous parking outside the school.
We then moved onto Foleshill Road and the Edgwick park area. Some motorists were given words of advice and other ticketed.
Our last shop was Churchill Avenue, here the major problem is ‘double parking’ this is not safe and must not be done. Vehicles were ticketed along this road.
On the day a total of 28 fixed penalty notices were given out.
When speaking to residents, another local issue was speeding on Red Lane. After learning of this officers completed a speed watch session over the course of an hour that officers were there a total of 5 were caught going over the speed limit. These drivers will be receiving mail in the near future.
A big thank you!
