Good morning to those on South Wales Listens. It's Saturday 29th March.
I want you give our local community a brief idea on what your local Neighbourhood Policing PCSO'S do in your community.
A number of people whilst out on patrol wanted to ask for the job, the role is like. So I thought if I could give you a quick snap shot on my role for today. Policing is like the weather ever changing and never the same.
I also want to remind people we are civilian staff not police officers.
A Police Community Support Officer. Well it's just that we try our best with you and partners to work together.
If you want to know more about the role and powers of a PCSO, please look at the Police Reform Act 2002.
Now Police Officers come under PACE 1984. So different powers for a different role.
There are also many different departments within South Wales Police. So not one department but many departments would have many responsibilities. Not one officer but many other staff involved even on one incident would also share duties.
Ok, my tour of duty started at 0800 till 2200. I have checked our police daily briefing to see what has been going on in your neighbourhood.
Today I am in West Cross at 0900 hrs in relation to speeding issues. I have a volunteer who lives in West Cross to assist in a speed scoping exercise in Fairwood Road.
Right off I go, keep you updated. | |
