Man charged after shots fired in Aston

Dear Resident,

We've charged a man with several offences after shots were fired in Aston.

We were called to FJ Lounge on Bickford Road on Sunday (23 March) after gunshots were heard shortly before 6am.

Two men were taken to hospital, with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

We arrested Aaron Nubie, and he has now been charged with attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

The 45-year-old, from Birmingham, has been remanded in custody and is due at Birmingham Magistrates today (28 March).

A closure order has been granted for FJ Lounge under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act, which prevents anyone other than the owner from entering the premises.

We still want to hear from anyone with information about what happened.

If you have photos or videos that you haven't yet submitted, you can do so here.

You can also contact us via Live Chat on our website, or by calling 101 quoting log 636 of 23 March.

We are continuing to relentlessly target those who carry firearms, which have no place on the streets of the West Midlands.
