Nesting birds and the law

With the better weather, we are doing more work in and around our green spaces, but please be aware that from March to August, sometimes earlier and a little later, birds are nesting.  It is against the law to disturb, harm, take or destroy and birds nest or eggs  in the UK.  Birds may be nesting in trees or shrubs, or even on the ground.  Please avoid major garden works like tree removal and hedge cutting during the nesting season, to avoid injuring birds or disturbing nests.
