This afternoon Oswestry SNT officers completed a police operation on the A483 and surrounding roads in the Llynclys, Pant, Llanymynech, and Porth-Y-Waen areas. During this operation, a number of vehicles were stopped and drivers were reported for various offences.
Our primary goal was to promote road safety and dissuade the commission of offences and criminal use of the roads.
Ensuring the safety of all road users is a priority for us and the Llynclys cross roads is a collision hot spot.
Police enforcement in relation to offences linked to road safety is important for a number of reasons including: Saving Lives: Reducing accidents and fatalities on the road helps protect drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and cyclists. Preventing Injuries: Minimizing crashes prevents serious injuries that can have long-term impacts on individuals and families. Promoting Safe Driving Habits: Encouraging responsible driving behaviour helps create a safer environment for everyone. Protecting Vulnerable Road Users: Ensuring the safety of children, elderly, and disabled individuals who may be more at risk on the roads.
