Here’s a summary of crimes that have been reported across Mid Holderness last month:

Domestic Related incidents: (thirteen investigations) 

Harassment x2, Assault x 2, Robbery x1, Public Order x3, Sexual Offence x3, theft x1, damage x1

 

Residential Burglary reports: (one investigation) 

12/03/2025       Burglary Lambwath Lane, RISE classic car stolen from outbuilding.

 

Business Burglary reports: (three investigations) 

17/03/2025   Burglary Sutton Road, WAWNE – farm vehicle & various Tools stolen.

24/03/2025   Burglary Main Street, BURSTWICK – various tools stolen from greenhouse.

27/03/2025   Burglary Sutton Road, WAWNE – farm vehicle stolen from outbuilding. 

 

Thefts: (eight investigations)

05/03/2025    Theft of timber Headlands Drive, ALDBROUGH 

08/03/2025     Theft from shop Main Street, WAWNE – theft of chocolate.

13/03/2025     attempt theft from garden Main Road, HUMBLETON.

13/03/2025     Theft from shop Church Street, ALDBROUGH – theft of chocolate.

16/03/2025     Theft of cycle main Road, SPROATLEY.

17/03/2025     Make off without payment for fuel, A165 LONG RISTON.

Vehicle Crime: (one investigation)

04/03/2025   vehicle interference, Dawnay Road, BILTON

 

Damage: (three investigations)

16/03/2025  Arson damage to cones, field near Main Road, BILTON

24/03/2025  Damage to trees and hedging, Swine Lane CONISTON

27/03/2025  Damage to farm fencing, Ferry Road WAWNE

 

Drugs: (two investigations)

11/03/2025 Drug possession, Main Road, BILTON

23/03/2025 Drug possession, Langthorpe Road, NEW ELLERBY

 

 

Humber-talking has set our priorities, this month we are to:


 

  • Preventing Residential dwelling Burglaries.
  • This period is always one of our busiest, however, we would like to offer reassurance to residents and a stark reminder to those intent of causing harm or committing offences, that we are out in force and ready to act against anyone involved in vehicle crime.

     

    Action - aims to: 

  • reduce burglary related crime.  
  • raise awareness within the local community about property security.
  • provide crime prevention advice to community members.
  • Intended outcome:

    The intended outcomes are to: 

  • reduce the number of recorded crimes related to Burglaries. 
  • enhance security measures to protect residents.
  •  

    2.      Improving Road Safety

     

    Action – aims to:

  • As we enter the spring months, members of the Holderness Policing Team will continue to be out and about policing our roads to promote safe behaviour and enforcement of traffic laws.
  • Officers will continue to support Bilton Primary School Streets scheme to reduce traffic in the village and encourage families to walk or cycle to school.
  • Intended outcome:

    The intended outcomes are to: 

  • Education & awareness campaigns to reduce the number of casualties on our roads.
  • Create a culture of road safety where individuals understand and practices safe behaviours.
  •  

    With the return of all children to our primary schools after the Easter Holiday, the Community Team will be conducting patrols around the schools making sure that the roads are safe for everyone especial for our young members outside the schools’ gates. 

     

    Engagements: In April 2025, the dates and locations are as follows:

    1st- Tuesday 7:30pm Sproatley Parish Council @ SPROATLEY Memorial Hall

    2nd- Wednesday 7:30pm Riston Parish Council @ Village Hall, Main Road, LONG RISTON

    5th- Saturday      11:30am     the Village Hall, Swine Lane, CONISTON

    26th- Saturday      11:30am     the Village Hall, Swine Lane, CONISTON

     

    Schools will be visited during the morning and afternoon commute.
