Longford Weekly Update

Dear Residents and Local Businesses,

Here is your weekly update from your local neighbourhood Policing Team, to let you know some of what we've been busy dealing with:

OUR PRIORITIES

We had been receiving reports of Anti-social Behaviour involving groups of youths at Arena Shopping Park and CBS Arena. We have worked with officers on our schools team, to identify the majority of the youths involved and we have visited several of them at home to issued banning notices meaning that they will no longer be allowed to enter the area, unless they are with an adult.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTS

We held a CUPPA WITH A COPPA event at Bell Green Library on Monday 31st March. It was well attended by residents and will be arranging another one in due course. Please keep an eye on these emails for more updates.

We have arranged a PACT meeting for Friday 8th April 18:30 - 19:30.

At St. Thomas Church, Longford Road, Longford, Coventry CV6 6DR.

We would love to see you there if you can make it.

We have also arranged the following Pop Ups:

5th April at Riley Square 10:30 - 12:00pm

2nd May at Arena Retail Park 12:30 – 13:00

STREETWATCH

We are looking for volunteers to get involved in a local Streetwatch group within the Longford and Bell Green areas - if you would like more information or if you're interested in joining, please contact Streetwatch@westmidlands.police.uk with your name, telephone number and postcode.

ARRESTS

Our officers have arrested a male on Old Church Road for theft of motor vehicle and also for possession of a bladed article, as he was in possession of a large machete.

VEHICLE SEIZURES

One vehicle was recovered by officers as it was stolen.
