Good afternoon residents,
I thought I would share with you a report which was made to Police in the last 24 hours -
Yesterday at around 11am, an unknown person has been seen walking in Snedshill, St Georges, Telford by a resident. After the person has walked past their address the front door has opened, no entry was made in to the address by the unknown person, no theft occurred and no criminal offences were committed, but the circumstances are obviously very suspicious. As such, we thought we would let you know that the St Georges SNT are aware and will be continuing to patrol in the area, we are urging residents to remain vigilant, report any suspicious activity and be mindful of home security.
I have included an attachment in this message which covers some home security advice and tips.
It's also worth mentioning that some opportunists may take advantage of the seasonal changes, an example of this would be as follows; As the weather gets warmer it's not uncommon for windows to be opened and left unattended or unsupervised, I know a few years ago we had a report in Muxton of a distraction burglary, the resident at the time was sat in the back room of their property, the French doors were open which they left unsupervised to answer a knock at the front door. Whilst the resident was distracted at the front door another accomplice gained entry to the property over the fence and in through the open rear doors, in a matter of seconds items were stolen and the offenders made off out of the area.
If you see anything suspicious you can contact Police on 101 to report non emergency incidents, or 999 in an emergency, thank you.
