Dear Resident, Here’s a quick round up from me and the rest of the Springfield neighbourhood policing team. What’s been happening Community Priority. Following our poll on twitter where the community asked that parking was one of our focuses for the month of March, officers have issued 373 parking tickets in Sparkhill and seized a number of vehicles for repeat offences and dangerous parking. Officers will be continuing enforcement in the months ahead along with our partner agencies. Our voted priority for the month of April is a focus on road traffic offences. We will continue to update you throughout the month. Proactive Patrols Officers from the team have been conducting pro-active patrols into the early hours of the morning in Sparkhill. A number of positive stop searches have been conducted where drugs including nitrous oxide have been seized. Some offences have resulted in referrals and educational courses whilst persistent offenders have been summoned to court. Cuppa with a Copper. We continue to hold our weekly ‘Cuppa with a Copper’ sessions at St. John’s Church every Monday between 10am – 12pm. Please join us for a chat with our local PCSO Evans. Finally, A big thanks to Bosnia House and the Qadria Trust for our invites to their multi-faith iftars in March. It was a pleasure to be invited and both were fantastic opportunities to bring together the network of community leads. Please continue to look out for further updates from the team on our X (formerly twitter) page @springfieldWMP |
