City Centre Drugs Haul Seizure and Arrest!! 

Update from Tuesday 1st April 2025 Drugs investigation.

Two plain clothes officers from your City Centre Neighbourhood Neighbourhood Proactive Team had been out on foot patrol around pre-determined hot spot areas. 

Whilst walking through the SOUTHERN GATEWAY area of the City Centre near to student accommodation blocks the officers had sighted a VW GOLF car loitering in the area. The officers could see the driver appeared agitated. He was constantly looking around and behind him and then checking his phone. As the officers watched the VW car they saw a Range Rover pull up alongside it. The driver of the VW car then exited his vehicle and walked round to retrieve a large black bag from his passenger side. 

The officers swiftly made towards the two vehicles and were able to tackle the driver of the VW car as he went to throw the large bag into the Range Rover – this caused the Range Rover to set off at speed immediately almost taking the officers with it. 

The VW car driver was handcuffed and detained and within the large bag officers found £20,000 in cannabis. 

A search of the VW Car retrieved more snap bags of cocaine and as such the VW car driver has been arrested – he was also found to be an illegal entrant into the UK from 2022 and will likely be deported at the conclusion of criminal matters.
