Following recent reports of all-terrain vehicle (ATV) thefts (including quad bikes) and an increase in reports of livestock worrying in the Warminster, Tisbury and Mere areas, PC Howick from the Wiltshire Rural Crime Team undertook high visibility evening patrols of the area yesterday (1 April). PC Howick carried out farm patrols and engaged with people living in rural areas to offer crime prevention and safety advice, as well as advising dog owners to keep their dogs under control and on leads. Wiltshire Police advise ATV owners to remain vigilant and ensure their vehicles are stored securely, with keys removed out of sight. More information and crime prevention tips can be found on the Wiltshire Police website. Dog owners are advised to ensure their dog is always kept on a lead and under control at all times, especially if walking through fields.
