Attempted Burglary - Weldon Close

I have been asked to bring this to your attention by your local Police.

An attempted residential burglary occurred on Weldon Close (which is off West End Road near the Polish War Memorial) on Tuesday 1st April at approximately 0400hrs.

Informant has seen an unknown male walk past their Ring Video Doorbell heading towards their rear property entrance. There was ongoing building work at the property and there were tools in the garden.  Suspect appears to have tried to gain entry via the rear gate but was not successful and left walking backwards towards Glebe Avenue. Suspect was described as wearing a black and grey tracksuit with the hood up, white T – Shirt, white trainers and was carrying a mobile phone. There has been no damage to the property, nothing has been discarded and nothing has been stolen.

PLEASE ENSURE YOUR FRONT DOORS ARE LOCKED AND SECURE, IF YOU HAVE A UPVC FRONT DOOR, JUST CLOSING THE DOOR IS NOT SECURE, THESE DOORS MUST BE DOUBLE LOCKED, PLEASE LIFT THE HANDLE TO LOCK AND THEN LOCK USING YOUR KEY AS WELL.

Did you see or hear anything suspicious? You can let us know by ringing 101 and quoting crime reference 01/7331785/25.  You can also provide information anonymously to CrimeStoppers on Freephone 0800 555 111.
