Vehicle Crime Prevention

It is so easy to lock a vehicle with a remote key fob and just as easy to leave the vehicle insecure if unchecked. Offenders often know if a vehicle is unlocked as they would expect the door mirrors to be turned in.

Have a plan around security, ensure your vehicle is locked!

Do not leave property in your vehicle on display. This includes sun glasses, aftershave, jackets and other clothing and loose change all of which we have seen targeted and stolen.

Please do not leave your wallet or purse containing bank cards in your vehicle.

Try and park your vehicle in a garage or under a street light. If in a drive way ensure you have dusk until dawn lighting. Consider a video door bell such as Ring that provides CCTV facilities and is proven to deter offenders and has often provided Police with images from which we can identify offenders.

Have a plan and secure your vehicles.
