Throughout April, we’ll be having an increased focus on the four factors that make it more likely that someone will be killed or seriously injured on the roads – we call these the ‘fatal four’.

To protect all road users, our officers will continue to be out on the roads helping to educate drivers about safe driving and how to avoid the fatal four by ensuring everyone in a vehicle:

Wears a seat belt

Drives within the speed limit for their vehicle type

Drives without touching their mobile phone

Drives unimpaired by drugs or alcohol

In the last year, 36 people were killed and 334 people were seriously injured on our roads.
