Crime Report Kirkby in Ashfield and the Rural Villages for the week to midnight Wednesday 2 April 2025


Officers from the Kirkby Neighbourhood Policing Team will be holding beat surgeries on the following dates.

KIRKBY LIBRARY ASHFIELD PRECINCT NG177BQ on Thursday10th April  2025 at 10:00-11:30am.

AMEMONA SWEETS at KIRKBY LIBRARY, ASHFIELD PRECINT, KIRKBY IN ASHFIELD NG17 7AQ on Sunday 27th April 2025 at 2:30pm-4:00pm.

Crimes reported over the past seven days.

Burglary Dwelling

Between 2.00pm on Sunday 30 and 8.00am on Monday 31 March in Westdale Road, Jacksdale, house keys were taken from an unlocked silver Ford Fiesta car as the owner moved home. The keys were used to enter the house and suitcases and bags were searched and the contents scattered around.

Around 6.00pm on Tuesday 1 April in Nuncargate Road, Kirkby in Ashfield, a petrol strimmer was stolen from an unlocked allotment shed.

At some time between Friday 21 and Saturday 29 March in Lindley’s Lane, Kirkby in Ashfield, items were stolen from a garden in Lindley’s Court. Four green chairs and a round green table, a bench, some small garden edging fencing and slabs were stolen.

Criminal Damage

At 6.34pm on Saturday 29 March in Chapel Road, Selston, a report regarding issues with young people attending the Youth Club on Friday evenings, usually around 7.00pm. This Friday a group of around 20 youngsters were kicking footballs against fences and gates, picking up stones and throwing them around.

Between 8.00pm on Monday 31 March and 6.00am on Tuesday 1 April in Kingsway, Kirkby in Ashfield, the back doors of a van was damaged in what may have been an attempt to break into the van.

Between 9.00pm on Monday 31 March and 8.00am on Tuesday 1 April in Lake View Drive, Annesley a Vauxhall Vivaro van parked at the Mour Hotel, had two holes bored in the back doors and one deadlock snapped off making it impossible to open the doors.

At 5.05pm on Thursday 27 March in Lea Lane, Selston, a report of two males riding motorbikes on the park. One wearing a black bobble beanie hat, black jacket and black trousers. The second wearing a white t-shirt.

At 5.46pm Thursday 27 March in Felley Mill Road North, Underwood, a report of six off road bikes being ridden in Friezland Wood on the Felley Priory estate.

At 9.58pm on Friday 28 March in Lindley’s Lane, Kirkby in Ashfield, a report of three youngsters, around 13 years old, climbing on scaffolding to quite a height, being urged on by other youngsters on the ground. The caller was concerned for their safety.

At 6.42pm on Sunday 30 March in Kingsway Park, Kingsway, Kirkby in Ashfield, four males had climbed over the fence into the locked pitch area of the park and were playing around, but no damage occurred.
