Following intelligence received through the Community, a Court Warrant was obtained and executed at an address in Irchester this morning led by myself and supported by colleagues on the Neighbourhood Policing Team. Upon entry it was discovered that the majority of the household had been converted for the growth of cannabis. The dangers with regard to these types of set up relate not only to those posed by individuals tampering with and bypassing electrical supplies (and pushing up bills for everyone else), the supply itself is unregulated and poses a real risk of overheating, power surges and inevitably fire, endangering those who live in the immediate area. I would like to thank the Community for playing their part and providing a simple piece of intelligence which was able to be developed and expanded to achieve the permission of a Court to enter these premises and make those in Irchester feel a little safer.
