Good Afternoon, I am sending this message out to get the communities opinions on the issue of vehicles being driven in excess of stated road weight limits around the Boroughbridge, Langthorpe, Minskip, Roecliffe and Kirby Hill areas.
Have you seen any clear violations of weight limits? Do you know the times & locations where this frequently happens? Do you know the details for any repeat offending vehicles?
Overloading a vehicle can reduce its stability and control on the road, obstruct the drivers field of view and increase the chance of brake fade and tyre blowouts. It is dangerous and can be a risk to other road users.
We want to target this issue in the coming months and your assistance could be vital. If you have any information please get in touch by replying to this message or contact North Yorkshire Police and ask to be referred to the Road Safety Partnership.
