The Harris Hawk that had taken up residence in Flamstead was safely captured this afternoon (Thursday 3 April). It is now in a specialised aviary, awaiting re-training. While police have not led on the response to the incident, a low-level presence has been maintained in the area, with rural specialist, Special Chief Inspector Steve Meredith facilitating communication with expert agencies and local partners, to try and bring the situation to a safe conclusion. He said: “Residents were living in fear of the bird attacking them, so we are delighted that the Hawk has been successfully humanely captured.
