Vehicle Theft

Hello all.

I'm appealing for CCTV in relation to a vehicle theft on 01/04/2025 from the car park of Littlestone Golf Club.

My appeal is to those of you who have CCTV that cover Station Road from the CO-OP down to the traffic lights and Littleston Road up to the sea front, The Churchlands, Church Road area, Fairfield Road from the rear of Sainsbury's to Ashford Road, and Ashford Road out towards Ivychurch.

Timings between 19:35-20:00, the vehicles I'm interested in are a black Mazda SUV and a black Mini travelling together in quick succession.

Please check that your CCTV system's clock is on BST as this is easily missed.

I'd be grateful if you could have a quick check between those times and if you can see the above vehicles please email me 13183@kent.police.uk or text 07966308014.

Despite modern security devices on vehicle nowadays, a simple steering wheel lock is a good deterrent and will slow the offenders down considerably.

In other news we received a report of door to door sales in Lydd yesterday evening (02/04/25) by two chaps claiming to be from the company ‘Hello Fresh’.

I've reviewed some CCTV and they appear to be wearing Hello Fresh hi-vis vests.

I rang the company last night and although the call taker wasn't able to confirm that they had representatives in Lydd yesterday, she did confirm that the company does operate door to door sales.

I am awaiting definite confirmation that it was their reps yesterday but based on what the call taker told me and they were wearing Hello Fresh uniforms I believe that they were legitimate.

Remember, you're in charge when a door salesperson knocks and you don't have to answer the door but if you do and are interested in what they've got to sell, please ensure that they have photographic ID. A pedlar's licence has to be applied for at the police station in the area where the seller is from and a process is followed for a licence to be issued, if they haven't got this to show you please don't buy from them and close the door.

If they're from a company they should have photographic ID as well.

Thank you.

Steve.
