TAMWORTH AWARD WINNING WOMEN

Last night saw the Staffordshire Association of Women in Policing (SAWP) Awards take place at the County Buildings in Stafford wherein we recognised the dedication, resilience and achievements of women who go above & beyond in their roles.

We at Tamworth are extremely proud to have three of our extraordinary women recognised for their work.

Tamworth Police Cadet Leader, Teresa Brazil, won the award for Police Volunteer Of The Year. Teresa has run the Tamworth Cadets unit for a number of years and provides our young people with a place to feel valued & safe whilst teaching them important life & social skills. She has sought active involvements for the cadets at high profile events and given them memories for life in meeting Cabinet Members and members of the Royal Family.
In 2024 she logged a total of 158 individual duties totalling 777hours.

Special Sergeant Jennifer Woodward received a Commendation for Special Constabulary in recognition of her passion, dedication & professionalism and for being the longest serving female Special Constable in Staffordshire Police.

PCSO Beverley Gardner received a Commendation for Community service in recognition of her sterling efforts with some of the most vulnerable members of our community, demonstrating problem solving and a tenacious work ethic ensuring the best possible care is in place for them.

We hope you’ll join us in congratulating them. Thank you, ladies, for all your hard work.
