Vehicle Crime update


Good evening from the Coldhurst & Westwood Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Over the past few days, we’ve had an Increase in car crimes and potential Burglary attempts, so were asking residents to be vigilant and ensure your doors are locked on properties and vehicles.

Resent crime locations include the Premier Inn car park off Chadderton Way, where 2 vans were broken into last week and yesterday 2 cars were broken into just off Godson Street, one of which had several items taken and another property around the corner at Hansby close had an attempt to gain access to the House and Vehicle around 3am in the morning, but luckily all the doors were securely locked.

Please note most of these incidents tend to involve opportunist what look for cars left open, or house doors left open. Please ensure you lock every door at night and make sure your house alarms are on, as this will help deter a large percentage of thieves.
