After an extremely busy March, we have a little breathing space to tell you about a few significant results in relation to Retail Theft and York City Centre offences/offenders.

Whilst these updates may sound relatively generic, we can’t stress enough how much additional focused work and attention to detail goes into these cases across our teams to ensure successful outcomes for victims and to protect Businesses and Communities from repeat offenders.

No let up on prolific Thief CB, who we have repeatedly arrested and charged this year. Recently sentenced for 18 shop thefts and a breach of community order and imprisoned. She is back in Court in early May for a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) application to be considered. This individual’s partner in crime LP was also charged and convicted with many offences and imprisoned with 12-month exclusion order not to attend many premises he previously targeted.

Prolific Burglar and Thief IG recently charged with a further 9 offences including Stalking and is currently remanded in custody until a late April date when next appearing in Court.

Persistent nuisance drunk and Thief MC who this year has been charged and convicted with no less than 22 offences including Theft, Burglary, Drunk & Disorderly, Assault Emergency Worker to name a few. Since early March he has received 34 weeks imprisonment, we are due back in Court in early May to apply for a CBO.

AH was recently located and arrested for recall to Prison having been outstanding since the end of February.

Very prolific Thief CB given 8 weeks imprisonment at the end of March. As a result of joint working with Business and partner agencies; a interim CBO has been granted (full details to follow) and we are back in Court for the substantive CBO application to be heard in due course.
